CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Strength and Conditioning Specialist is responsible for assisting staff needs in the strength and conditioning department. The SCS will also assist in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs and provide monitoring and maintenance activities in the weight room.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS 1.
Takes and tracks attendance, excuses, and exceptions for all lifts, running sessions, and any other S&C activities as determined by the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. The SCS assists in immediately tracking down late/absent players. 2. Assists the Director of Sport Science in gathering and organizing all data related to S&C, including managing catapult equipment, miscellaneous sport science technology, percentage sheets, testing data, yearly comparisons, team accountability spreadsheets, and any other data requested by the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. 3. Assists in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for football student-athletes if one or more full-time countable five S&C coach is unavailable to perform their duties. 4. Monitors the weight room any time the strength staff is required to be at football-related activities such as practice, travel and/or departmental meetings. The SCS, in consultation with ATC and PT staffs, assists with rehabilitative and return-to-play programs for injured players during practice or while the strength staff is traveling for away games. 5. Remains current in the field of strength and conditioning by continually reviewing all appropriate literature and attending conferences and seminars as time and budget permits. 6. Assists the internship coordinator with managing and organizing internship interviews as well as supervising current intern involvement and compliance. 7. Manages the cleaning schedule for the weight room as well as checks and maintains equipment and assists in the replacement process of worn or damaged equipment. 8. Performs special duties as requested by the Head Strength Coach. 9. Maintains compliance and certification with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental policies, and procedures. 10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
Certification and Licensing:
Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
