Foster Care Licensing Counselor Requirements Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field of study and two plus years experience in social work or related field preferred; or any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills to successfully perform in this role. State of Florida Child Welfare certification, required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in child welfare. Interviewing and assessment skills to assess the qualifications of potential professional foster parents. Organizational skills. Maintain sensitivity to our target populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Visits Foster Homes, assesses the safety of the children in care, and completes Home Visit Reports. Documents contacts with foster parents in FSFN system. Completes initial and re-licensing home studies. Provides training to Foster Parents in home/office or at meetings. Conducts Foster Parent evaluations/relicensures. Assists in coordinating services/events for children & foster parents. Provides supportive services to foster parents and children, as assigned. Assures that Foster Parents are fully trained in the approved Pre-Service Curriculum. Facilitate pre-service training to prospective foster parents, as required per region. Assures that all Foster Homes are meet standardized safety & licensing requirements. Assists in coordinating services to children & foster families. Completes monthly reports on children in care. Assists in placement decisions. Assist placement On-call after hours on a rotating schedule. Attends recruitment orientations and presentations. Facilitate recruitment presentations within faith based communities and churches. Perform all other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
