Key Functions and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Provide academic and career information to current and prospective undergraduates on topics such as course schedules, academic and professional four-year plans, tracking, college probation, career development, study skills, minors, honors thesis, research opportunities, combination master's programs, resume development, internships, networking, choosing a major, study abroad, and petitions processes. Review and adjust degree audits for students, making corrections regarding substituted courses, requirement waivers, courses included in grade point average, etc. Provide assistance in college activities such as Drop/Add, Advance Registration, Registration, admission activities, or any other activity which makes for a smooth-running office. Admissions and Outreach events are occasionally held on evenings or weekends. Act as a liaison with other HSB teams, UF colleges/departments, campus partners, or outside agencies to provide academic and career advice and to assist in providing for the students' overall well-being. Manage or assist with team or termly projects, as needed. Participate actively in weekly meetings with the Academic & Career Advising team to discuss and review policies, develop best practices, and share outcomes assessments. Occasional HSB or Warrington College of Business meetings may be required. Participate in University Commencement Services and/or College Commencement. Teach GEB2015 -
Business and You:
Warrington Welcome course for first year Business students. This opportunity is on an as needed basis and may require an after-hours time commitment.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm in Gainesville, FL. Some flexibility in start and end times available. Participation in evening or weekend events, as required. Expected Salary:
$57,000 - $62,000
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in education, counseling, or an academic field directly related to the advisor's area of responsibility and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or an academic field directly related to the advisor's area of responsibility and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
