ADA Para-Transit Specialist Center for Independent Living of North Central Florida Gainesville, FL Job Details Part-time $17.25 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Flexible schedule Qualifications Interpersonal skills Experience working with individuals with disabilities Client rapport building Driver's License Paratransit Training delivery Full Job Description •This is a part-time position 20 hours per week.• The ADA Para-Transit Specialist is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the ADA Paratransit services as described in the contract between the CILNCF and The City of Gainesville, Regional Transportation System (RTS).
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
1. Scheduling and coordinating ADA Paratransit Services program appointments. 2. Conduct ADA Paratransit eligibility screenings and applications in a high-quality manner 3. Assist in obtaining and processing Professional Verification Forms. 4. Assist in communicating information to applicants and riders in a timely manner 5. Provide information and answer questions from applicants regarding their application status, processes, and policies pertaining to ADA Paratransit Services. 6. Assist with informing riders when certification is expiring and recertification is needed (i.e. 30 or more days from date of expiration) 7. Responsible for maintaining and updating Paratransit databases (i.e. Smartsheet) and other reporting systems in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner 8. Plan and conduct Travel Training with consumers. Create, update, and improve the Travel Training curriculum and procedures as needed. 9. Coordinate, plan, and facilitate Disability Awareness Trainings per requirements described in the City of Gainesville/Regional Transit System (RTS) contract. 10. Responsible for assisting in the replacement ADA card requests and temporary RTS passes. 11. Assist in conducting and reporting on Mystery Audits per requirements described in the City of Gainesville/Regional Transit System (RTS) contract. 12. Conduct intakes and ensure that Consumer Service Records (CSR) are maintained by keeping all information and as to reflect the progress of the Independent Living Plan, including service notes, goals, etc. 13. Refer individuals with disabilities to CILNCF services whenever appropriate to meet their Independent Living goals. 14. Provide any required reports and statistics in a timely fashion. 15. Accurately recording and reporting tasks completed as an ADA Paratransit specialist such as Goals, Services for Goals, Contact Notes, Contact Attempts, Logging time spent with each consumer, and maintaining Active/Inactive status into CIL's database software for organizational, and reporting purposes. 16. Adhere to all CILNCF reporting procedures and requirements through consistent and accurate record keeping, paperwork, documentation, etc. in a timely manner. 17. Attend and participate in CILNCF meetings, training opportunities, and other activities as required in order to enhance service delivery to individuals with disabilities. 18. Comply with all CILNCF policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) Experience working with persons with disabilities. 2) Reliable transportation, current driver's license, and insurance for personal vehicles used while performing CILNCF work. 3) Demonstrated ability of good verbal and written communication skills. 4) Demonstrated ability to build and maintain rapport with others. 5) Ability to work with staff and consumers on a cross-disability basis. 6) Ability to initiate projects and work independently. 7) Understand the independent living philosophy and movement.
