Job Description

Full Life provides individualized support for young people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), helping them grow independence and engage in community life. With offices in Hilo and Kona, our team has spent more than 20 years building a trusted, supportive environment for youth and families.
Position:
Pre-ETS Transition Specialist Full Life Hawaii is offering two 4-week Summer Transition Camps designed to prepare students with disabilities for careers and independence through hands-on learning and essential job skill development. As a Pre-ETS Transition Specialist, you'll support youth ages 14-21 in developing skills for future employment, independence, and community engagement. You'll work in both school-based and community settings to help students explore career paths, build confidence, develop real-life skills, and prepare for life after high school. What You'll Do / Day-to-Day Typical responsibilities include:
Job/Career Exploration Counseling:
Supporting students in identifying strengths, interests, and potential career pathways Counseling on
Postsecondary Opportunities:
Assisting with planning for education, training, and vocational programs
Self-Advocacy Training:
Helping students build communication, confidence, and decision-making skills
Workplace Readiness Training:
Teaching social, professional, and independent living skills
Work-Based Learning Experiences:
Supporting hands-on job training opportunities in community settings Who We're Looking For We welcome candidates who are passionate about working with youth and making a difference.
Ideal candidates are:
At least 18 years old Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in education, social work, psychology, or a related field (preferred, not required) Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting youth Strong communicators who can connect with students, families, and team members Organized and adaptable in a dynamic environment Available Monday-Friday, with flexibility for occasional community-based activities; some Saturday shifts may be available Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred) Why Work with Full Life? Depending on student locations, services may also extend to surrounding areas such as Ka and Puna. Duration June 1

Some candidates may be able to start earlier, with potential opportunities to continue beyond July. This role may have the opportunity to continue beyond the summer on a reduced schedule (approximately 10 hours per week), depending on program needs and performance. Ready to Apply?
