Job Description

Company Overview The Youth Service Bureau of Jay County is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to supporting children and youth in crisis. Our mission is to provide a continuum of care that promotes healing, safety, and healthy development through trauma-informed practices. Summary "Youth Specialist" at The Youth Service Bureau of Jay County plays a vital role in supporting at-risk youth through crisis intervention and behavioral health services. Located in Portland & Winchester, this position is essential for fostering safe environments that promote healing and personal growth. Responsibilities Responsible for all Safe Place Program activities, including data entry, presentations, and responding to Safe Place calls. Responsible for maintaining and recruiting safe place sites throughout Jay and Randolph counties Educate community about Safe Place through presentations and outreach Attend quarterly meetings for Safe Place throughout the year Present Safe Place trainings to proposed/interested sites Conduct Safe Place presentations in Jay and Randolph schools to students Be available 24/7 for safe place calls or insure a back-up person is in place •Participate in a minimum of 10 hours of training each year
Qualifications:
Prefer a bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Corrections, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related human service field. Will accept candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and youth work experience. Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Prefer applicant lives in or near Randolph County because of the response time required for Safe Place calls.
