Job Description
The position reports to the Programs Manager and collaborates with applicable staff in the Office of Community Services (OCS) as well as from other departments and organizations to achieve program and agency outcomes, and to comply with funding requirements. The Housing Case Management Specialist acts as a positive change agent in holistically assisting individuals and families experiencing homelessness in achieving and maintaining housing, while concurrently promoting awareness and teaching strategies that reduce the likelihood of a return to homelessness in the future Minimum or a bachelor's degree in social work, education, abilities education, psychology, sociology, nursing, family studies, early childhood development or a related field is required. Two years of experience in human service delivery, counseling, or in a community-based service setting is required. One year of experience working with families with mental illness or substance abuse is preferred. Working knowledge of homeless management information system is preferred Experience with multicultural service delivery. Bilingual English/Spanish may be required in communities with high concentration of Hispanic families. Must have excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
