Open until filled Position Purpose Responsible for working with a subset of students at risk of not graduating high school. This will include, but is not limited to, working with school cohort teams, parents, volunteer mentors and tutors, and especially students in group or one-on-one settings; coaching students individually as the need is demonstrated; holding meetings with parents and/or guardians. Essential Job Functions Meet with students 1:1 to review progress on and/or amend education and career plans. Review student files, records, and school data to determine level of intervention needed. Collaborate with cohort teams to provide students with iGrad support. Work with students to develop education and career plans. Build relationships with students facing life crises to intervene in positive ways to assist students to remain in school. Document, communicate, and adjust intervention strategies as needed. Provide guidance to mentors and tutors on how to relate to students facing challenging life circumstances. Work with students in academic distress and if necessary, find a tutor to provide assistance. Assist with event based programming for students.

Equipment Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to assist students. Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Google). Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others. Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with all students. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work. Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required. Effective writing and verbal communication skills. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Works in standard office and school building environments. Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
Qualifications Profile:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High School diploma required with at least three years of experience in education, social work, counseling, psychology, or related field Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred with at least three years of experience in education, social work, counseling, psychology, or related field
Terms of Employment:
Less than 12 month, school year position, 25 hours per week Grade 9 on
Classified Staff Salary Matrix Starting Hourly Rate Placement:
Grade 9 $17.83-20.17 based on experience An additional $1 per hour will be paid from referendum funds Other conditions and stipulations as listed in the
