Job Description
The Job Coach supports students in developing pre-vocational, vocational, and employment readiness skills through individualized instruction and coaching in both school-based and community work settings. Working collaboratively with teachers, employers, and related service providers, the Job Coach helps students build the skills necessary for successful transition to employment and greater independence.
Essential ResponsibilitiesProvide direct instruction and support to students in school-based enterprises and community employment settings.
Teach, model, and reinforce job-specific skills, appropriate workplace behaviors, and employability skills across a variety of work environments.
Assist students in developing communication, problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills necessary for workplace success.
Reinforce academic, functional, and life skills as they relate to vocational tasks and workplace expectations.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to implement vocational programming and transition services.
Assist in monitoring, evaluating, and documenting student performance, work habits, and progress toward Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and transition objectives.
Participate in the development and implementation of vocational and transition goals within each student's IEP.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community employers and business partners.
Identify, evaluate, and monitor potential community job sites to ensure they provide appropriate learning opportunities and safe work environments for students.
Support students in developing increasing independence by gradually fading prompts and encouraging self-advocacy and problem-solving skills.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of student attendance, work performance, progress, and required program data.
Communicate effectively with students, families, school staff, employers, and community partners regarding student progress and workplace expectations.
Ensure student safety and adherence to school policies and workplace regulations while participating in community-based instruction.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs.
