Job Description

Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract Embark on an opportunity to make a lasting impact as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist working with K-12 students for the upcoming academic year. This contract position is located onsite and offers the chance to deliver vital support and instruction to students with diverse visual needs. The role runs from September through mid-June, with consistent weekly daytime hours.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) license required Experience working with K-12 populations preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and families Ability to adapt instructional approaches for a variety of ages and abilities Detail-oriented and committed to student safety and growth
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct O&M services tailored to individual student needs Develop and implement instructional strategies for safe and independent travel in school and community environments Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP planning and documentation Partner with classroom teachers and related service providers to integrate O&M goals into the educational setting Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with district and state guidelines
