Job Description
The Pittsfield Public Schools seeks a dynamic and highly organized Early College Coordinator. The Early College Coordinator will play a pivotal role in fostering a strong partnership between Pittsfield HS, Taconic HS and Berkshire Community College (BCC), serving as a liaison to connect Taconic and Pittsfield High School students with the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. This position will focus on student and parent engagement, information sessions, admissions and scheduling assistance, and collaboration with BCC staff to reach underrepresented and underserved students. Additionally, the coordinator will provide referrals to community resources and support services.
Experience working with high school students and families.
Knowledge of college admissions processes and academic advising.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Student and Parent Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategies to engage students and parents from Taconic and Pittsfield High Schools about the Early College Program
- Conduct information sessions and workshops to provide comprehensive information about the program, admissions process, and academic opportunities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students and their families
Admissions and Scheduling Assistance:
- Assist students with the application process, including completing necessary forms and meeting deadlines
- Coordinate with BCC admissions staff to ensure a smooth transition for students into the Early College Program
- Assist in scheduling classes and advising students on course selection
- Collaboration with
BCC Staff:
- Work closely with BCC faculty and staff to develop and implement effective Early College Program initiatives
- Identify and address any challenges or barriers that may hinder student success
- Promote a positive and collaborative relationship between high schools and BCC
Community Resource Referrals:
- Provide students and families with information about community resources and support services, such as tutoring, counseling, and financial aid
- Connect students with appropriate organizations to address their individual needs
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Track student progress and outcomes to assess the effectiveness of the Early College Program
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and inform program development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.Experience working with high school students and families.
Knowledge of college admissions processes and academic advising.
