Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under the general direction of the Director of Clinical Services, the Clinical Training Coordinator trains new DES Disability Reviewers to be effective members of review teams. This position will interact with appropriate State agencies as needed in performance of both managerial and clinical roles. The Clinical Training Coordinator is responsible for insuring compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations governing the disability determination process. This position will execute internal and external quality assurance reviews and develop corrective action plans to resolve deficiencies. Responsibilities
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify organizational training needs and develop training materials and agenda to include new Disability Reviewer training (and refresher training), and New Physician Advisor training. Monitor progress of new reviewers utilizing monthly competencies and assist DES management with evaluations through the probationary period. Coordinate the orientation of new Disability Reviewers. Identify changes in federal regulations and procedures and develop internal guidance/training to staff in a timely manner. Assist in developing, monitoring and updating performance standards for disability reviewers, as well as working with specific reviewers to remediate performance deficiencies. Examine quality of work performed by Disability Reviewers and provide feedback to employees and management. Assist with writing organizational procedural standards and administrative policies. Updates Occupational Employment Quarterly as needed. Perform other duties as required, including delivery of vocational and/or other disability related services. Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
RN with an unrestricted licensed with six years of relevant experience OR Masters Level Degree Licensed or certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor or other certified Allied Health professional with 3 years of relevant experience in 1 or more of the following areas: acute medicine, long term care, mental health, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, rehabilitation and/or vocational counseling Ability to work in a team environment, interpret state and federal laws and regulations, meet performance deadlines in a dynamic environment. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated experience using computer-based tools including electronic mail, word processing and database products. Ability to travel to off-site locations
