Career Pathways and Employer Relations Manager Full-time 12-month, Exempt Position
POSITION SUMMARY
The Career Pathways and Employer Relations Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing Capitol Technology University's mission to prepare students for immediate, meaningful impact in the workforce. This is a builder role for an innovative professional who believes that career readiness is core to academic success and that strong employer partnerships fuel student opportunity. You will design and scale career programming, cultivate employer and alumni partnerships, and translate industry needs into real career pathways for Capitol Tech students. You'll work at the intersection of academics, industry, and student ambition-connecting rigorous, hands-on education to internships, jobs, and long-term career outcomes in high-demand fields. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial thinker who is energized by mission, thrives on autonomy, and wants to build systems and relationships that turn Capitol Tech's education into measurable postgraduation success.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain relationships with employers, recruiters, and industry partners Serve as the primary point of contact between employers and the institution Identify and assist students in securing appropriate internships, full-time employment, part-time jobs, and experiential learning opportunities Collaborate with employers to understand evolving hiring needs, align talent pipelines to workforce demand, increase employer satisfaction and engagement Collaborate with academic departments to align curriculum with industry trends and employer requirements Organize two signature Career Conferences and Employer Fairs a year, employer information sessions, on-campus and virtual recruiting events Oversee career services employer and student platform, Simplicity Maintain Career Services presence online including collaborating with Marketing and Communications to increase LinkedIn Presence, MyCapitol, as well as co-branded web-based vendors. Design and deliver career development and job search education including search strategies, networking techniques, interview preparation, offer evaluation, negotiation Oversee workshops, seminars, and group coaching experiences Create content related to resume and cover letter development, LinkedIn and professional branding, career readiness and promotion readiness competencies. Creating and implementing training for student success mentors, professional advisors, and faculty on employer relations best practices and career search methodology Provide one on one coaching to support the diverse needs of the student population Develop a pool of alumni and mentors who can provide insight into complex career searches Implement and track the Capitol Commitment to serve students at graduation, 90 day, and 6-month milestones, as well as provide first destination data to meet reporting expectations Track employment outcomes and placement rates Use data to improve employer engagement, program design, and student participation
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field Relationship building and external partnership development Career coaching and advising expertise Program design and facilitation experience Knowledge of employer and labor market Strong communication and stakeholder management Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally to a student population; Demonstrated knowledge of methods and strategies for seeking professional employment; Demonstrated knowledge of resume and cover letter formats, preferably for technical fields; Strong writing, proof reading and editing skills; Must have a strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ability to both learn and effectively operate the Jenzabar database; Compensation and Benefits Salary $73,000 to $78,000 per year
