Job Description

Seasonal Skills Trainer (Earn & Learn Program - Summer)
Location:
Various community and worksite locations
Schedule:
Variable - days, evenings, and occasional weekends based on student worksite assignments
Status:
Union, Non-Exempt (Seasonal) Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Skills Trainer to support students participating in our Earn & Learn Summer Program . The Summer Earn and Learn Program serves youth and young adults, including individuals with disabilities who are exploring career pathways, developing workplace skills, and gaining meaningful paid work experience in community-based employment settings.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals with developmental or other disabilities Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Licensure:
Valid Michigan Driver's License Must meet approval requirements of agency insurance carrier Key Responsibilities Provide skills training and implement individualized goals in workplace, classroom, volunteer, and community settings Support students at assigned worksites, ensuring understanding of job tasks and expectations Monitor progress and maintain daily data collection on goals and objectives Assist with production work, quality control, and task training Record time and production data in compliance with Department of Labor standards Implement behavior support plans as directed Participate in planning meetings, reviews, and team communications Supervise individuals during work, breaks, and transitions throughout the day Provide personal care assistance as needed Transport participants to and from community and worksite locations Identify and support opportunities for employment, volunteer work, and community engagement Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards (DCH, DWIHN, Medicaid, CARF) Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all organizational policies Perform Job Coach duties as needed Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all participants Additional Expectations Flexibility to work varied hours based on program needs and student placements Ability to work independently across multiple community sites Maintain a reliable personal vehicle for job-related travel Why Join Us?
