The CRPBIS Facilitator supports the implementation of culturally responsive positive behavioral interventions and supports (CRPBIS) within the Lansing School District. This role involves coordinating CRPBIS activities, fostering relationships with students and families, coaching teachers on CRPBIS implementation, and promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion through proactive initiatives. Qualifications
  • Education & Certification Bachelor's degree required; Early Childhood Education preferred Valid Michigan Teacher Certification preferred. If the hired candidate does not have a teaching certificate, they must agree to get certified as soon as possible. Uncertified applicants will also start at Level 3 on the pay scale. Qualifications
  • Experience Minimum of 2 years' experience implementing CRPBIS initiatives in a K-12 setting. Documented experience teaching and working in multi-cultural settings to promote and celebrate cultural diversity. Qualifications
  • Skills & Knowledge Ability to coordinate and lead CRPBIS initiatives, including student and parent advisory teams.
Proficiency in organizing events to promote and facilitate CRPBIS-related activities. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Excellent organizational skills for maintaining compliance logs in alignment with 31A requirements. Flexibility to attend and facilitate monthly after-school activities. Sample Job Responsibilities Teach SEL lessons to K-4 students using the 2nd Step Program, ensuring alignment with CRPBIS principles. Coordinate and lead the school-wide CRPBIS program, serving as Team Leader in collaboration with IISD and school staff. Plan and execute programs for parents and students, promoting understanding and engagement in CRPBIS initiatives. Create and implement 504 plans and conduct Functional Analysis Assessments to support
CRPBIS/MTSS
goals. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support through supplemental services based on discipline referrals, teacher recommendations, or attendance data. Offer push-in, pull-out, one-on-one, and small group services to meet individual student needs. Work with students to design CRPBIS school-wide celebrations that reinforce positive behavior. Use restorative practices to address and resolve student conflicts effectively. Model and demonstrate CRPBIS expectations during lunch and other daily activities. Participate in professional development opportunities, including conferences, staff meetings, and program visitations. Work Environment & Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Must be able to move throughout the building and campus, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces. Frequent verbal communication is required to instruct students, lead meetings, and collaborate with staff and families. May be required to stand or walk for extended periods, including during supervisory duties. Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students. Regular use of computers and instructional technology for planning, instruction, and communication. Must be able to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
