- Mon•Friday•8 hour shifts between the hours of 7am•5pm Java Junction Coffee shop\Trenton•Full time or Part time availability•Must be able to work Saturday 8am•2pm, Monday 9am•5pm and prefer Wed•Friday 2pm•5pm
Position Title:
Job Coach Summary Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Job Coach supports Arkay consumers in their skill building and supported employment programs and at external work sites by monitoring, assisting, and training them to learn skills enhancing independence and community integration and to perform job tasks and interact at community integrated employment job sites successfully and appropriately. The Job Coach provides individualized or enclave-based job coaching support, conducts performance assessments, and ensures each consumer receives support to gain and maintain competitive, integrated employment. The Job Coach also communicates changes in employment conditions, worksite expectations, and site staffing to the appropriate supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Consumer Support and Job Coaching Provide direct instruction, coaching, monitoring, and reinforcement to help consumers complete job tasks successfully. Support consumers at their assigned work sites in the performance of job duties. Teach and model job responsibilities, work expectations, and appropriate workplace behavior. Observe consumer performance and respond appropriately to support successful job outcomes. Follow each consumer's person-centered plan and support needs. Promote consumer dignity, independence, self-confidence, and inclusion in the workplace. Communication and Relationships Maintain open and professional communication with staff, consumers, guardians, caregivers, transportation staff, employers, and other stakeholders. Report changes in employment conditions, worksite expectations, staffing, or consumer concerns to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner. Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with consumers, guardians and their support network. Safety and Compliance Adhere to all agency policies and procedures related to the Job Coach position. Maintain CARF standards and accurate records to document service delivery and best practices. Follow all agency safety policies and procedures at all times. Support individuals with a variety of disabilities, including those who may display aggressive behaviors. Respond appropriately to consumer needs and safety concerns in the work environment. Administrative and Operational Support Attend required meetings, trainings, events, and other staff development activities. Assist with transportation as needed and when authorized. Work at any assigned job site as needed. Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet program and consumer needs. Provide a high level of customer service to consumers, employers, and worksite partners. Communicate effectively to ensure quality service delivery and employer satisfaction. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director or other management staff. Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to work at community job sites and in seasonal outdoor conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift as needed. Ability to transport consumers when required and authorized. Ability to respond appropriately in situations involving behavioral or safety concerns. Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift as needed. Must be able to lift push or pull 25 lbs of force frequently and 50 lbs of force and infrequently; must be able to bend, sit or stand for long periods of time Ability to assist with mobility support, transfers, and personal care. Ability to safely operate assistive equipment after training. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or similar experience. Valid Michigan driver's license. Ability to drive a 12-15 passenger van. Ability to obtain a chauffeur's license or other required driving credential if applicable. Ability to work in seasonal outdoor environments, including hot and cold temperatures. Ability to work with consumers who may display aggressive behaviors. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a community-based, vocational, or employment support setting. Prior experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with person-centered planning and employment support services. Flexibility and adaptability in a team-based environment.
