General Job Statement:
The Career Development Coordinator for MFIP Gateway provides comprehensive case management and employment coaching to Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) participants. This role ensures that guests receive personalized support to achieve self-sufficiency through employment, training, and education, in strict alignment with MFIP program guidelines and procedures. Using a strengths-based case management approach, the Career Coordinator builds long-term, empowering relationships with guests, guiding them in developing Individual Career Development Plans (ICDPs) and accessing workforce training, employment opportunities, and supportive services. This position requires detailed documentation, adherence to program compliance, and coordination with internal and external partners. The position is also responsible for ensuring that guests attend work readiness and soft skill development training to enhance guests' understanding of the work culture and strengthen their work readiness skills. This position plays a critical role in supporting MFIP guests in achieving sustainable employment while ensuring compliance with all MFIP program requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, education, human resources, business, social services, or related field, and two (2) and two years of MFIP and adults vocational or employment related experience. Associate degree with (3) years of MFIP and adults' career and workforce development experience; a high school diploma with seven (7) years of experience in MFIP and adult career and workforce development, human services, vocational or workforce development, or Human Resources. Experience in case management, workforce development, or human services, preferably within the MFIP Program. Strong understanding of MFIP Program Guidelines, policies and documentation requirements. Ability to develop goal-oriented career plans and track guest progress in alignment with MFIP expectations Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills for working with diverse populations Experience in employment coaching, job development or employer engagement Proficiency in case documentation systems and data tracking to ensure program compliance. Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) or Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) certification preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of the MN labor market and workforce development best practices that include demonstrated ability to assess and enhance guests' employment readiness through educational opportunities, certifications or other vocational programs and trainings that lead to licensure, certification, degree, or viable employment opportunities. Experienced with initiating, organizing, creating reports, representing the department and the organization, implementing work-related programs, and facilitating workshops. Excellent oral, written, and group communication Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Northpoint's driving standards. Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and computer client tracking databases.
