At Venture Academy, we provide a future-focused education that prepares students to thrive beyond high school. Our student-centered approach meets students where they are, and we are driven by our mission: students overcome barriers to become successful and fulfilled adults in their chosen paths. Venture Academy is seeking a part-time (.25) Career and College Counselor to support high school students during the 2026-2027 school year. This role would be an hourly position, approved for 10 hours weekly. This role is highly student-facing, with a strong emphasis on individualized support through consistent one-on-one meetings. 1:1 Student Counseling (Primary Responsibility) The majority of this role is dedicated to individualized student meetings.

The counselor will:

Meet with every senior Maintain consistent documentation and follow-up for all meetings Each meeting may include: Student surveys and goal setting Resume development and revision Union, trade, and career pathway research Follow-up on recommendations from the Director of Future Focused Learning College and Career Counseling Support seniors in completing college, career, and postsecondary applications Guide students through acceptance, enrollment, and next steps and support ACT registration at approved local sites Career Exposure and Postsecondary Access Coordinate at least three college visits , which may include: Hennepin Technical College Saint Paul College Minneapolis College (MCTC) University of Minnesota International Institute Collaboration and Program Support Collaborate weekly with Advisors, Case Managers, and support staff Data Tracking and Accountability Maintain detailed records of all student interactions using data systems.
