Job Description

Under general supervision, the Career Navigator will provide case management and career counseling to ADULT and Dislocated Worker or Youth program participants. Provide support and assistance in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement. Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunities for adult and dislocated workers. Create application in the NCWorks system for customers who have provided all required documents Scan all documents into NCWorks to ensure all documents for determining eligibility are correctly uploaded Determine customer eligibility, provide program orientation, complete objective assessment and individualized employment plan Build professional one-on-one working relationships with participants to assist in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed Encourage individuals to participate in and follow through with planned activities as outlined in contract with funding agency Oversee participant activities and assist with workshop schedules Create solutions to participant attendance problems Maintain organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contacts. Maintain participant files as specified by contractor. Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies Provide consistent and comprehensive case management follow-up and retention services, ensuring that post-placement contacts are made as required by specific contract while accommodating participant work schedules Document all participant contacts and activities in case progress notes within NCWorks Online Ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract Work with the team on implementing processes that increase participant engagement Serve as staff in the NCWorks Career Center and cross-train to achieve Integrated Service Delivery goals Other duties as assigned Bachelor's Degree; or Associate Degree and two years of experience managing data and customer interactions; or An appropriate combination of education and/or experience Knowledge of WIOA policies and procedures Career counseling experience
