The Evening Student Advisor serves as the primary academic and attendance advisor for evening Adult Education students on both the Greensboro and High Point campus. Working Monday-Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., this position provides direct support to learners by helping them navigate class concerns, attendance challenges, academic expectations, and overall program progress. The role ensures that evening students receive timely guidance, clear communication, and consistent support that promotes persistence and success. This position will collaborate with the Testing and Placement Advisors and Academic Achievement Specialist about advising and testing to measure student progress. In addition to advising responsibilities, the incumbent administers TABE and CASAS placement assessments, interprets results, and ensures students are enrolled at the correct instructional level. Testing and placement activities support the broader advising function by helping students begin in the right class and stay on track throughout their program. By combining responsive evening advising with accurate placement practices, this position strengthens student engagement, supports Measurable Skill Gains ( MSG ), and ensures high‑quality service coverage during evening program hours. Min Salary $33,744.95 Mid Salary $37,963.06- We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience. Duties/Functions Difficult Challenges Contacts Education Required Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, business, or a related field from an institutionally accredited College or University. Education Preferred Master's degree in education, social sciences, business, or a related field from an institutionally accredited College or University. Experience Required Three years of experience with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act ( WIOA ) programs such as Title II Adult Education or administering standardized testing. Experience using technology including Microsoft Office suite, a relational student information system, e.g. Colleague, Advansys, LACES, Banner, etc. Experience with high stakes tests and maintaining strict confidentiality/security testing protocols. Experience advising students and placing students into classes based upon educational data. Experience collecting, analyzing, and acting upon student data. Experience Preferred More than three years of experience with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act ( WIOA ) programs such as Title II Adult Education or administering standardized testing. Experience with TABE and CASAS proctoring and test interpretation. Proficiency in a second language. KSA Required Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) including effective listening behaviors. Strong critical thinking ability. Ability to work in a team environment collaboratively and to build effective working relationships. Excellent time management and problem-solving techniques and use of professional judgment in a complex team environment.
