$53,698 Work Location Main Campus Job Description Summary The Pathway Equity Navigator (12 months) will be responsible for providing career awareness outreach, career/success coaching, employability skills assessment and training, and job search awareness/assistance to Biotechnology students at Forsyth Technical Community College (Forsyth Tech). The Pathway Equity Navigator will be employed on a full-time, time-limited basis and have authority, in conjunction with the Principal Investigator (PI), to plan, develop, and implement the NC BioBetter Grant activities in accordance with the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS). The Pathway Equity Navigator will work cooperatively with college faculty/staff and consortium members, be responsible for communications and information flow in this capacity, and monitor and coordinate all grant activities and timelines to ensure all grant expectations are fully met. This position reports to the Vice President, Transfer Excellence and Success at Forsyth Tech. The position lasts 4 months, and the remaining period of the grant This position is a grant funded and will end December 31, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
A bachelor's degree or higher Two years' experience in recruiting, hiring, training, human resources, or career coaching/counseling Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience with appropriate technology including Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, spreadsheets, presentation and collaboration apps and software.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred:
A degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Industrial Technology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a closely related field Two years' experience in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry or a related field Experience advising college students. Experience using a case-management system. Familiar with BioWork certificate program.

General Responsibilities Serve as Pathway Navigator for BioWork and Bioprocess Technology programs with a focus on employability skills and connections between students and employers to secure employment. Coordinate resume development/approvals, career fair, students navigating the job search process, and interview preparation. Visit curriculum and/or continuing education programs to support a pathway to employment and transition to the next credential. Assist in any data collection. Participate in scheduled and called departmental, faculty, staff meetings and other College activities. Follow policies stated in the policies and procedures manual as it relates to instructor/staff responsibilities and keep supervisor informed of relevant matters. Serve on College committees as assigned. Use available resources and identify new resources needed to ensure students receive the necessary employability skills required for them to quickly and efficiently enter the workforce. Collaborate with regional efforts to create a regional pool of bio sector candidates entering the local workforce. Create connections between candidates and job openings and ensure the best possible match between employer need and candidate skill level. Submit records and forms in a timely fashion as required in the policy and procedures manual. Encourage and support College activities, policies, procedures, and philosophies. Student Success Support students in STEM, by connecting students to programs/systems aimed to reduce barriers. Demonstrate concern for student retention by employing best practice strategies. Monitor student progress in academic pathways and document activities in case management systems. Research and communicate job openings and skills required for those positions to students, alumni, and colleagues. Contributions to Community Serve on the Biotechnology Business and Industry Leadership Team to understand local workforce needs. Raise awareness of bio sector educational pathways and related local career opportunities, including community presentations and creating strong relationships with local school systems and programs for individuals seeking to enter/re-enter the workforce. Continuous Development Complete the annual five-hour staff development. Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the position. Actively participate in professional organizations. Pursue continuous improvement in the areas of subject matter expertise; the use of educational technology; and other areas related to the strategic goals of the college. Read professional literature to remain informed of the latest research aligned with their work and connected to higher education.
