In this rewarding role, you'll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing engaging educational, recreational, vocational, and life-skills programming that encourages greater independence and community involvement. Begin Your Journey with Paid Training $$$ Paid On-the-Job Training - We'll Help You Build the Skills for Success! $$$ How You'll Make a Difference Create Engaging Learning Experiences Plan and facilitate structured activities that encourage personal development, communication, independent living, and social interaction. Adapt instruction to accommodate each individual's strengths, abilities, and learning style. Encourage participation while helping individuals build confidence and achieve personal goals. Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every individual feels valued and supported. Encourage Community Participation Coordinate and participate in recreational, educational, volunteer, and community-based activities. Help individuals develop social skills and meaningful relationships within their communities. Safely transport participants using agency vehicles to scheduled outings, appointments, and activities. Promote community inclusion through engaging and enriching experiences. Support Individual Growth Assist individuals in working toward goals established in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs). Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide person-centered supports. Encourage healthy decision-making, independence, and daily living skills. Implement positive behavioral supports that promote success and dignity. Maintain Quality Services Complete daily documentation, progress notes, attendance records, medication administration records, and incident reports accurately and on time. Follow agency policies related to health, safety, confidentiality, and participant care. Monitor participant well-being and communicate concerns promptly to supervisors. Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Valid New Jersey driver's license with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Flexibility to participate in community-based programming and transportation responsibilities. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including assisting individuals with mobility and lifting when necessary.
