06/30/2026 Job Summary The High School WBL Coordinator designs, expands, and manages student career pathways. You will align structured learning experiences (SLE) with New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) CTE programs of study and oversee all Option 2 graduation pathways [1]. This role drives community partnerships, secures dual-enrollment opportunities, and coordinates across school counseling and academic departments to guide students in building viable post-secondary plans.
Qualifications & Certification Requirements Certification:
Valid New Jersey Instructional or Counseling Certificate.
WBL Endorsement:
Completion or enrollment in NJDOE-approved Work-Based Learning training (e.g., Rutgers).
Expertise:
Knowledge of NJDOE Option 2 pathways, CTE administrative code, and dual enrollment frameworks [1].
Skills:
Strong organizational skills to manage cross-departmental logistics and student tracking data. Key Responsibilities Option 2
Administration:
Oversee the application, approval, tracking, and credit-awarding processes for all Option 2 programs (e.g., online learning, internships, community service, independent study) [1].
Inter-Departmental Coordination:
Partner closely with school counseling and academic departments to ensure student schedules, credits, and graduation requirements align with Option 2 and WBL experiences [1].
CTE Program Alignment:
Ensure all WBL programs directly support NJDOE Career and Technical Education standards and career clusters.
Community & Dual Enrollment Partnerships:
Recruit local businesses and higher education institutions to expand internship, apprenticeship, and college-credit pipelines.
Dual Enrollment Administration :
Administer the application, approval, and credit-awarding process for all district dual enrollment programs.
Post-Secondary Advising:
Direct students in all grades in designing actionable post-secondary plans, including college placement, trade school entry, service, or immediate career entry.
Regulatory Compliance:
Manage all student training plans, worksite safety agreements, NJ Child Labor Laws, and OSHA standards.
