Job Description:
The Liberal Arts and Sciences Department provides its students with a broad-based liberal arts education which prepares them for junior level study in a variety of majors in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. A broad range of elective courses in the Liberal Arts and Sciences allows students who are undecided about their majors to experiment with possible choices. Moreover, students who have majors or careers in mind may test those choices by taking electives courses that are prerequisites for their chosen majors. Each student's schedule of courses is arranged after careful consultation with a program advisor every semester. The Liberal Arts and Sciences department is currently seeking Adjunct Assistant Professors to teach the following course:
FRX 103 CAREER PLANNING
- (2 credit course) - This course is designed to assist students that are undecided about choosing a future career or major. The course emphasizes self-assessment, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, educational and vocational planning.
Responsibilities include:
Develop course syllabus that is inclusive of lesson plans detailing topics of discussion and related projects, and a chronological timeline for instruction and assignments due. Provide appropriate, professional and effective instruction of lesson plans. Follow all FSC policy and procedures as related to time and attendance, submission of mid-term and final grades, and department contact practices. The college particularly welcomes candidates with knowledge, skills and abilities that include: Commitment to diversity and university initiatives supportive of diversity and inclusion. Interest in participating in student-centered service activities. Desire to apply expertise in promoting civic engagement with the College's many community partners.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: A minimum of a Master's Degree is required. Expertise in subject area as evidenced by education/training, professional and teaching experience. Availability to teach all classes through the duration of the semester.
