This is a Federal Work Study (FWS) position. The School of Technology, Engineering, and Computing (TEC) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student to serve as a TEC Ambassador. This position supports the Career and Transfer Services and Student Navigator team within the school by promoting resources, engaging with students, and assisting with outreach efforts across campus.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote Career and Transfer Services and Student Navigator resources by tabling at campus events and high-traffic locations. Research internships, part-time, full-time, and entry-level employment opportunities relevant to TEC programs and share findings with the Career and Transfer Specialist. Create and post engaging, professional content on the School of TEC Instagram account to promote events and career resources. Assist with marketing and outreach efforts to increase student awareness of TEC services and events. Represent the School of TEC in a professional, welcoming, and positive manner while interacting with students. Perform other related duties as assigned. This position offers an opportunity to build professional communication, marketing, leadership, and career development skills while making a positive impact on the TEC student community.Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid FAFSA on file Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA Must be matriculated into a program Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours) Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their programPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS GPA
requirement of 3.0. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable speaking with students and representing the School of TEC at campus events. Familiarity with Instagram and social media content creation. Organized, dependable, and able to work independently.Additional Information:
Pay Rate:
Starting rate of $16.00 for new Federal Work Studies. Starting rate of $17.00 for returningFederal Work Studies Hours of Operations:
Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm To see if you qualify for Federal Work Study (FWS)
Position:
Visits OCC's Work-Study Page Review the Work- Study Checklist & complete and submit the Work Study Interest Form Or visit the Financial Aid Service Center (FASC) located in Gordon Student Center open Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm Federal Work Study may work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session.
