Aug 31, 2026 Job Description The Carey Exempted Village School District is seeking a passionate, student-centered educator to join our team as a K-12 Intervention Specialist / MTSS Coordinator beginning August 2026. We are looking for an individual who is committed to improving outcomes for all learners through high-quality instruction, targeted interventions, collaborative problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work directly with students while also supporting district-wide efforts related to intervention programming and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Ohio K-12 Intervention Specialist teaching license or certificate preferred.
  • Candidates with experience providing academic and/or behavioral interventions and supporting diverse learners will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based intervention strategies and specially designed instruction.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and using student data to guide instructional decisions and intervention planning.
  • Understanding of progress monitoring and data-based decision-making practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and support staff.
  • Proficiency with educational technology and technology integration in a 1:1 Chromebook environment. Desired Leadership Skills The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in:
  • Facilitating teacher-based teams and collaborative problem-solving processes.
  • Providing teacher leadership and instructional support.
  • Leading discussions around student achievement and intervention planning.
  • Supporting staff in analyzing student performance data and identifying instructional next steps.
  • Developing systems that improve student outcomes through collaboration and continuous improvement. Position Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
  • Providing direct services and support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers to implement effective intervention strategies.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of district MTSS practices.
  • Supporting universal screening, progress monitoring, and intervention processes.
  • Leading and participating in data team meetings focused on student growth and achievement.
  • Maintaining required documentation and meeting established timelines.
  • Building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. What We Are Looking For We seek an educator who:
