Job Description

PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SPECIALIST
(PRSS)
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Provide culturally appropriate peer to peer support services for clients to include coaching, guidance, advocacy & prevention services around physical health, mental health and substance abuse recovery. 2. Provide coordination of care to assist client to engage fully in services to promote and encourage wellness and recovery. 3. Provide referrals to clients to address basic needs and other barriers to wellness and recovery to include but not limited to food, housing, clothing, transportation, employment and other financial resources. 4. Make follow-up calls for no call/no show appointments & address barriers for missed appointments. 5. Work alongside Behavioral Health Professionals to provide case management services (referrals, advocacy & linkage). 6. Assist in organization and facilitation of group sessions and other activities to provide opportunity for clients to engage in positive social activities that promote health & wellness skills. 7. Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to address client concerns, progress, barriers, and other relevant issues to enhance treatment services. 8. Facilitate and observe urine drug screens for clients. 9. Act as a project director as applicable to assigned grant projects. 10. Complete GPRA tool for applicable clients to gather baseline data, individual client progress, & program outcomes. 11. Prepare & submit required reports & activity sheets in accordance with grant protocols. 12. Complete other tasks as requested by supervisors & grant project directors. 13. Assist with transportation services as assigned & as needed. 14. Complete all paperwork in a timely manner as outlined in agency policy. 15. Ensure compliance with HIPAA & other confidentiality regulations in all aspects of job duties. 16. Staff & support outreach activities as required. 17. Attend All-Staff meetings & all other meetings as required. 18. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Demonstrate exposure or personal recovery from a mental health diagnosis or a substance use disorder with a minimum of two (2) years of sustained recovery/sobriety. Must also be willing to self-disclose recovery story. 2. PRSS 1, must have a high school diploma or
GED. PRSS
2, must have a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or other behavioral health related field. 3. Previous experience working with adult patients in substance abuse trauma focused treatment. 4. Must obtain PRSS certification within 6 months of hire. 5. Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, free of major violations or infractions. Reliable transportation is required. 6. Must be able to pass pre-employment, annual, & random drug screenings & background checks. 7. Must provide documentation of covid vaccination status or request exemption based on qualifying factors.
Compensation :
$35,000 - $55,000 annual salary plus fringe benefits with opportunity for biannual bonus.
Location :
This position will primarily operate from Lost River, though travel may be required to off-site locations.
Schedule:
This employee shall maintain regular business hours (40 hours per week).
Supervision:
This position operates under direct supervision of the Lost River Program Supervisor.
