" by making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities as they work to overcome employment barriers and live lives that are more independent through community activities, volunteerism and job seeking and acquisition. We have full and part time opportunities in our adult program and part time opportunities in our youth services program. BCRC (Beaver County Rehabilitation Center) is a non-profit. We provide opportunities that encourage independence and community involvement through community based employment and in sheltered workshop environment. We partner with the business community to provide opportunities for vocational growth and life enhancement experiences to more than 500 people with intellectual, physical, mental health and economic challenges. In this position, you will assist individuals in developing and working toward their desired outcomes in the areas of; use of community resources, transportation, shopping and financial management and budgeting, communication, socialization, relationship and personal development, domestic skills, self-care, physical wellness, fine and gross motor skills and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community based settings and work experience. This position provides services to adults and/or students with disabilities.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing training will be provided.
How will you provide Community Support? You will help paticipants and students develop the skills they need to live successfully in their home and participate in their community.

  • Financial Management and Budgeting How will you provide Supported Employment?
You will work in the community to help clients find employment. There are three phases assistance you will provide the client in their job search process.
This might include:
    CAREER ASSESSMENT
    : You will work with clients to identify the types of jobs that are most suitable for them based on their personal interests, skills, educational and training background, and work or volunteer history. You will also help them identify areas for training or additional skills development that will help you achieve your goals.
    • JOB FINDING or
    DEVELOPMENT
    : You will work with Program Specialist to use the information they uncover in client career assessment to find a job that matches their assessed strengths, skills, and interests. This might include employer outreach and orientation, resume preparation and interview assistance.
      JOB COACHING
      : You will work with clients once they have secured employment, to provide training and ongoing support for them and their employer to help ease their transition into the workplace.
      Qualifications:
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Some post-secondary training / education preferred
      • Experience working with individuals with disabilities helpful not necessary, training will be provided
      • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
      • Ability to work in a team environment
      • Strong work ethic with high integrity
      • Familiarity with Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook
      • A valid driver's license
      • Able to pass background checks and clearances
