CAREER ADVISOR
 Interaction with young adults, ages 17 - 24 inclusive, promoting career-decision-making; development of career/employment plans; placement into subsidized training/work experience activities; assisting with employment acquisition; and other duties as described below.

 Physical office within PA CareerLink® Lackawanna County, 135 Franklin Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503
Hours:
8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.; Monday through FridayJob DescriptionBuild a professional one-on-one working relationship with young adults to aid in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment. This includes: assessment, individualized attention and coordination Prepares, organizes, and maintains accurate, updated information in both electronic and paper participant files reflecting the entire history of a program participant including log of supportive services issued Provides case management with a focus on helping customers to prepare for employment that leads to self-sufficiencyProvide consistent and comprehensive case management, documentation and follow-up Conduct client orientation /on-Boarding-Work with local training providers and/or placement sites to ensure appropriate documentation is completed and receivedFacilitate professional development workshops as assignedMaintain organized database of clients and keep detailed documentation (case records) of all contacts with clients.

Ensure participants follow through with planned activities as outlined in developed Individual Employment PlanProvide individualized assessment of work.

Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed Accurately complete required documentation for enrollment Create solutions to participant attendance problems Assist in the preparation of project reports as needed (participation, placement) Work collaboratively as part of the business services team to identify which jobs are available, what qualifications are needed, and which workshops and trainings can best prepare jobseekers for these positions Participate in activities including training, capacity building, and professional development - Work with leadership to identify operational challenges and to design and implement process improvements Provide operational support and coverage as needed/assignedProvide operations support for all compliance driven standards Promoting products, services, and content over social media, in a way that is consistent with an organization's brand and social media strategy Ability to Create content, including text posts, video, and images for use on social media Scheduling social media posts using applications such as CANVA and constant contact Coordinate and administer the development of quality social media content targeted at youth between the ages of 17-24 May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to their job responsibilities QualificationsAbility to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor requireProficiency with the use of MS Office and Google docsAbility to prioritize tasks and document visits and contactsDemonstrated telephone, computer and strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to thrive in environments with multiple stakeholders, frequent change, and diverse objectivesProfessional understanding of a vast array of occupations and career pathsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, social services, and/or communications or experience commensurate with the position Demonstrates strong customer service skills. Strong presentation skills with public speaking or outside sales experience recommendedPrior case management experience preferredKnowledge of Scranton, PA/Lackawanna County, PA community recommended/preferred Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Experience working with young adults (17 - 24) preferred Clean driving record.
