The Tennessee Educational Cooperative is a dedicated public nonprofit agency committed to fostering collaboration among local school systems. Serving the region and the broader state, the cooperative offers a wide range of educational services designed to support student success and community development. As an AT Project team member, the AT specialist will support the initiative's goals to build district-level capacity for providing skilled assistive technology support to students with disabilities. The AT specialist role is a part-time 10- or 12-month contract position, primarily focused on providing support for referrals, provide training, and support in training material creation. We are specifically seeking a candidate based in West Tennessee who can effectively serve the needs of this region. The specialist will work closely with other AT Project for Education team members to support our school teams. All staff assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed by the program director.

Tasks :

Serving as a consultant/liaison between AT Project and school districts, classrooms, and/or staff who reach out for assistance Providing coaching and mentoring to district-level staff and administrators (live and virtual) Conducting professional development activities (live, online, recorded) Assisting school staff with their completion of AT assessments, documentation, and implementation recommendations Showcasing AT lending library inventory to school teams Collecting and documenting internal data for referral management Researching relevant information and resources to be shared with school districts Developing instructional content and resources for online sharing through the Tennessee Technical Assistance Network (TN-TAN) website

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or master's degree in special education, speech-language pathology, or a related field Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification or eligibility to obtain certification Experience supporting students with IEPs in the educational settings Knowledge of AT to address the needs of students with physical, cognitive, communication, and learning disabilities Experience providing training, coaching, or technical assistance within the educational setting Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong oral and written communication skills with educational partners Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining positive, professional working relationships Demonstrates respect for others, values diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and fosters an inclusive environment Delivers high-quality services and work products that reflect positively on TEC and the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required Ability to meet employment eligibility requirements, including successful completion of a criminal background check Access to an appropriate remote work environment, including reliable high-speed internet, adequate workspace, and the technology needed to perform job responsibilities effectively If you're looking for a opportunity where your expertise can influence student success, we'd love to connect with you.
