Job Summary:
This role is responsible for providing district-wide coordination of the development, planning and assessment activities related to selection and implementation processes for student learning materials such as digital-based course materials, common learning materials, and open education resources as well as ensuring consistent daily operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements• ? Maintains close working relationships with a broad range of internal and external constituents to improve student experience and works collaboratively to establish standardized and comprehensive processes and procedures necessary for implementing, directing, communicating, and analyzing digital course materials, common learning materials, open educational resources, and other student learning materials ? Serves as the primary point of contact and liaison for internal and external stakeholders as it pertains to student learning materials, including but limited to faculty, staff and administrators, Publisher Representatives, and Barnes and Noble Bookstore personnel ? Assists the Coordinator I, Student Learning Materials providing guidance on day-to-day activities and training to streamline workflow, assess the efficiency of related operations, and develop more efficient and effective processes and procedures ? Generates reports and utilizes data from multiple sources to provide ongoing qualitative and quantitative assessments and establishes an annual plan of work, monitoring and reporting regularly on progress toward targets to assist the District Academic Affairs department with preparing information regarding student learning materials ? Collaborates with Business Services, Curriculum and Educational Planning, and Academic Support Services to receive and provide current information on the faculty selection and costs of student learning materials for each offered course, course enrollment numbers, and related coordination, with attention to the development of class schedules ? Provides training/professional development opportunities and any other related guidance and assistance for faculty to have the ability to identify primary sources for credible Open Education Resources (OERs) ? Facilitates the development of faculty and staff training and establishes and maintains effective communication channels to encourage faculty participation, to keep faculty and their supervisors aware of the availability and pricing of print course materials for student learning materials Service Excellence ? Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements ? Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite ? Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) ? Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College Supervision Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leader •Performs Other Related Tasks as Required The duties listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master?s degree and three (3) years? working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
At least one (1) year?s working experience analyzing and preparing complex technical specifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? Knowledge of issues related to effective Student Learning Material practices ? Knowledge of community college organizational practices ? Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication ? Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software ? Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, including all technical skill levels ? Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume ? Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations ? Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
