Job Description

The purpose of this position is to develop curriculum to train and educate temporary poll workers and the public on upcoming elections and law changes. Operates Early Voting Center. Assists in voter registrations. This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Staffs Early Voting Center and election day polling places. Manages poll worker management system. Edits and ensures functionality of training materials. Vets, interviews, onboards and train new poll workers in preparations for elections. Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires Bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, liberal arts, or any field other than engineering or the hard sciences. Over two years and up to and including four years of related experience. SC Election Commission certification (within 18 months of employment and annual renewal). Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
