Classroom Position Summary:
Under the leadership and direction of the Workforce Development Department, the CCTE Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, in-demand, high skill career and technical education instruction that prepares students for post-secondary education, industry certification, and employment opportunities. The CCTE Instructor is responsible for facilitating engaging, hands-on lessons aligned with curriculum standards, workforce demands and expectations. The CCTE Instructor combines occupational and soft skills with real-world vocational education. Additional duties may be assigned by the Supervisor.Role and Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on, skill-based learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to real-world applications. Create lesson plans, instruct students in-real world, in demand, high-skill, and high wage vocational education. Support students in career exploration, employability skills, and industry certification readiness. Supervise the effective use of software, tools and equipment. Develops and delivers engaging, standards-aligned instruction that supports CCTE standards and program goals. Identify new sources of industry-specific vocational, employability and occupational skills related opportunities. Assist with the tracking and monitoring of program of study, course progression; and certification attainment. Re-engages students' academic journey, fostering self-confidence and assurance that the program is tailored to meet the unique needs of adult learners. Assists and supports the organization and facilitation of Barrier Buster, CCR events (which include but are not limited to certification enrollment, college signing, college fairs, tours, scholarships, etc. to current students, teachers, and alumni). Maintain relationships and gather program feedback to support ongoing program initiatives. Collaborate with school leaders, WFD Coordinators, CCR Instructors, Employers, and Community partners to support student success. Attends and participates in school events, tours, workshops, conferences, professional development and meetings. Additional responsibilities assigned by Department Leader. 052026Support Functions/KPIs:
This position works closely with Workforce Development and Academics to support successful student-centered workforce development and College, Career and Technical Education program. CCTE Instructors will be required to support industry testing, academics and specific program performance. CCTE Instructors will work closely with the WFD Coordinator with coordinating, tracking, and monitoring (CCR), credentialing, technical education and workforce development activities, with a focus on ensuring readiness and maintaining accountability metrics at the assigned school level; specific KPIs include: Support Postsecondary Placement 50% of Excel Center graduates will apply and be accepted for admission in a post-secondary school (college, trade school, or training programs) of choice. Support Employment Placement 30% of Excel Center graduates will be employed at a livable wage (above Federal minimum wage level) within 6 months of graduation.Interpersonal Relations:
Must demonstrate an affinity and enthusiasm for Goodwill Excel Center mission of helping individuals of various backgrounds, cultures, educational and socio-economic statuses. Demonstrates professionalism and serves as an engaging, direct representative of the Excel Center's model and culture Maintains effective oral and written communication with internal and external business partners, employers, team leaders and students. Collaborates with and maintains strong relationships with internal departmental teams, team leaders, and school administration. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy of data tracking, monitoring, and entering information. Ability to work independently and manage time in a high-energy work environment. Ability to analyze data for informed decision-making initiative and self-direction. Ensures compliance with established school policies, WFD guides, training, and applicable labor laws. Strong communicator at a variety of levels, demonstrating effective presentation skills. The ability to effectively support individuals with various disabilities, personalities, and cultural backgrounds; experience working with at-risk and adult students. 052026Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant career/technical field. (required). Minimum of 3 years' industry experience in the assigned CTE area is preferred. Appropriate state certification or licensure preferred. Data tracking, monitoring and reporting capabilities.Proficient computer skills:
Microsoft Office products, browsers, database mining and management Excellent communication skills (listening, written and verbal); mature interpersonal relationship skills. Project management skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, projects, and priorities Bilingual language skills are a plus. Additional Preferred Skills Experience with work-based learning or employer partnerships. Knowledge of safety procedures and industry standards. Ability to support students with diverse learning needs. Familiarity with career pathways, industry certifications, and employability skills. Strong recordkeeping and organizational skills.
