Will assist in recruiting, assessing, and mentoring students to support grant goals including assisting in job placement and career exploration. Coordinate and implement outreach and recruitment strategies. Track and report student attendance, behavior, and progress. Refer students to network of campus and community service providers. Establish positive and trusting relationships with students. Coordinate and/or provide supportive services to support academic persistence and success. Connect students to college admission processes, including financial aid, academic advising, and academic and student support services. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. One (1) year of experience in coordinating education programs. Experience in supporting at-risk populations and managing multiple student support activities and coordinating referrals to community partners. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Strong customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively and problem solve. Intermediate level computer application skills including Word and Excel. Knowledge of grant funding programs. Position requires an efficient, detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and work well with a minimal of supervision. Strong team orientation with good time management skills focused on meeting deadlines. Some evening and weekend hours as needed. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in social services or education or other related field. Two (2) years of experience in coordinating adult education programs or other basic work skills training programs. Experience with student recruiting and advising, workforce placement, or coordinating social services. Experience in providing case management supporting adults from recruitment and intake through certification and employment. Special Instructions to Applicants This is a security-sensitive position. Job Duties Job Duty Provide information on Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) targeted career and educational pathways. Document student contact and maintain accurate files in accordance with FERPA guidelines. Respond appropriately to requests and inquiries from participants, potential participants, affiliated organizations, other educational organizations, grant partners, etc. in a timely fashion. Maintain student records and assist in completing and submitting grant reports. Job Duty Assures a professional environment is maintained at all times and serve as role model for grant students. Foster student accountability, self-advocacy, self-awareness, and effective use of resources. Provide opportunities for students and their families to attend social and cultural events on campus. Solicit student feedback on and experience with BCT program. Job Duty Actively outreach to potential community sources of candidates and potential employers. Flexibility in working among dynamic environments where immediate response may be important. Ability to re-organize priorities. Job Duty Extensive case management and student guidance and advising. Including assisting students with career research and planning. Monitor and track student progress and meet with students regarding academic achievement. Contributes to program success by developing, implementing and coordinating activities to support students. Job Duty Aid staff in assuring quality delivery of scheduled grant classes by supporting instructors at assigned site or campus on a weekly basis.
