Refugee Resettlement assists in helping create a home-away-from-home, we assist government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification and resettlement. The Cultural Orientation Specialist is responsible for organizing cultural orientations for clients enrolled in various refugee programs, performing cultural orientations and tracking outcomes of orientation participants. The Cultural Orientation Specialist will improve the already existing cultural orientation curriculum and develop creative ways of delivering the orientation while ensuring its effectiveness. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to deliver presentations confidently and show enthusiasm and commitment to working with the refugee community.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Works with education team to build and maintain successful Cultural Orientation Process including hosting cultural orientations for refugee clients, tracking attendance at cultural orientations, providing follow-up orientations on specialized topics, and tracking progress of clients attending cultural orientations. Welcomes and orients refugees to the community and culture. Works with clients to remove barriers to family self-sufficiency. Organizes Cultural Orientations conducted in various languages on a regular basis to keep up with number of clients in need of orientations. Adapts cultural orientations, as needed, according to pertinent and timely topics. Coordinates with Case Managers to identify who is in need of additional cultural orientations and provide orientations accordingly. Documents all contacts and services in client case files and maintains case note logs. Completes all require reports related to cultural orientation. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree Bilingual Valid Texas Driver's License
