RESPONSIBILITIES
This position serves as a dedicated student success coach and advocate, focused on fostering academic achievement, retention, and completion for a diverse student population. Through proactive outreach and strong relationship-building, the role provides holistic, individualized support—helping students navigate college systems, identify strengths, overcome barriers, and connect to essential resources. By delivering personalized coaching, monitoring progress, and coordinating timely interventions, this position ensures students feel supported, empowered, and equipped to succeed throughout their educational journey. In addition, this role contributes to student development and an inclusive campus culture by leading belonging and engagement initiatives and supporting basic needs programs. Responsibilities include coordinating intercultural programming, managing resources such as the campus food pantry, and collaborating across departments to enhance student life and wellbeing. By centering students' experiences and advancing ATCC's strategic priorities—particularly its commitment to equity in educational outcomes—this position helps create a welcoming environment where all learners can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job) Two years of working with underrepresented and underserved student populations. An Associate's degree may substitute for six months of experience. Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with a diverse student body. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Ability to flex hours as needed to coordinate college-sponsored events and student life programming. Preferred Qualifications (desired but not expected to have to enter job) Bachelor's degree in social science, education, international studies, human services, or other related degree. Demonstrated bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish to enhance student access and engagement. Experience working in a higher education student affairs, TRIO, or educational opportunity program setting. E xperience in event planning and marketing.
