Sensitive Position No Job Description Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Academic Learning Specialist serves as a student success professional within the Associate Degree Nursing Program. The position provides academic coaching, student support services, remediation, clinical readiness coordination, and NCLEX preparation support designed to improve student retention, progression, graduation, and licensure outcomes. The position plays a critical role in helping students develop effective learning habits, clinical judgment, test-taking strategies, note-taking techniques, and NCLEX readiness while ensuring compliance with clinical requirements necessary for progression in the program. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) from an accredited institution. Current active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Minimum of two (2) years of direct client care experience as a Registered Nurse. Demonstrated proficiency with technology and educational software applications. Additional Considerations Master's degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Experience in nursing education, tutoring, academic coaching, advising, or student success services. Experience with ATI testing and remediation systems. Experience managing CastleBranch or similar compliance management platforms. Community college experience. Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel Travel between campuses as needed.
