Job Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Case Management Assistant to work alongside our Clinical Resource Management Department. Case Management Assistant (CMA) exercises independent judgment and professional discretion in the practice of case management to a selected group of patients. The CMA performs clerical and data entry procedures necessary to process referrals and other case management duties. The CMA establishes and maintains an open channel of communication between CRM staff, payers, payers' preferred providers, community resources and members of the clinical team to process requests, obtain essential information, and effect a timely transition. The CMA is proactive and uses collaborative problem solving skills to meet the needs of the patients and physician. High School diploma or equivalent required. Junior College/Technical School preferred. Previous experience in a hospital atmosphere a plus. The learning period recommended is six (6) months for proficiency in the majority of tasks. Candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to build effective relationships with the healthcare team, and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
