Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). In this role, you will provide hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them build independence, participate in their communities, and achieve their personal goals. What began as a small, family-led initiative became an official nonprofit in 1978 and has grown into a trusted provider of services across Southeast Alaska. REACH honors and respects the people we serve by promoting choice and well-being through advocacy and services. A day in the life of a DSP As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will support individuals with daily living skills, promote independence and community involvement, and assist with appointments, work, and recreational activities. You will build respectful relationships, follow each person's Individual Service Plan (ISP), complete basic documentation, and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
Available schedules:
24-hour sleep shifts 8-12 hour overnight awake shift Various day-time hours available Who we are looking for: 18 years or older High school diploma or equivalent Strong communication, reliability, and compassion Ability to work independently and as part of a team Moderate computer skills Driving may be required for some assignments: 21+ with 3 years driving experience Valid driver's license Current DMV report and auto insurance
Work Environment & Physical Conditions :
Standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs Ability to assist individuals physically when needed Occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens
