Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Full-Time Personal Care Specialist, working a rotating schedule that includes evening and overnight shifts with four days on followed by two days off. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to residents in a supportive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with disabilities, and residents requiring memory or dementia care. Your energy and commitment will help foster a warm, safe, and engaging community for all residents. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure residents' health status is maintained Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, employing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies Support residents during meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and equipment Document resident progress, incidents, and care activities thoroughly while communicating effectively with team members and healthcare professionals Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments with a focus on senior or long-term care Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols to ensure resident safety at all times Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and recognize signs of health deterioration Experience with medication administration, dementia care techniques, and behavior management strategies Competence in using EMR systems for documentation and reporting purposes Valid driver's license preferred for transportation needs; experience in driving or group home settings is advantageous Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to foster trust and rapport with residents Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every resident feels valued!
