Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Private Caregiver to provide personalized, high-quality care to individuals in a home or community setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with extensive experience supporting individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with disabilities, or individuals requiring specialized memory care. As a Private Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being, safety, and independence of your clients through attentive support and compassionate service. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques. Monitor and observe patients' health status, including vital signs and overall condition, while maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper meal presentation and safety standards. Administer medications accurately according to prescribed care plans and document medication administration records diligently. Support clients with personal transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or social activities to promote community engagement. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment that respects residents' rights and promotes dignity. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities. Proven ability to implement care plans effectively while adhering to healthcare standards such as HIPAA and patient safety protocols. Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional training in manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts is advantageous. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and medication management enhances your capability to deliver comprehensive care.
