Position Overview :
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your contributions will ensure that we uphold the highest standards of care while promoting independence and dignity for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs. Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Implement and adhere to individualized care plans to ensure the well-being and safety of each client. Facilitate participation in social and recreational activities to enhance the quality of life for individuals. Advocate for resident rights and support their preferences and needs. Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered and monitor individual progress. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and medical professionals. Provide assistance with memory care for individuals with cognitive impairments.
Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License. Ability to obtain or have a Fingerprint Clearance Card Preferred experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs. Knowledge of senior care, memory care, or experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is advantageous. Familiarity with care plans and medical terminology. Ability to adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong communication skills and an aptitude for teamwork. Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor.
