Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Live-In Caregiver, where your compassionate support and attentive care will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. This rewarding role involves providing around-the-clock assistance to individuals with diverse needs, promoting their independence, safety, and well-being within a comfortable home environment. As a Live-In Caregiver, you will be an essential part of creating a nurturing atmosphere that fosters dignity and respect for clients of all ages and conditions. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive personal care assistance, including helping with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patient health through observation of vital signs, medication administration, and managing medical equipment like catheters and Hoyer lifts. Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean, safe living space for clients. Document medical records accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Support clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease by implementing specialized memory care strategies and engaging in meaningful activities. Follow home healthcare regulations and protocols related to hospice care, end-of-life support, and geriatric patient needs. Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods such as patient transfer techniques or Hoyer lifts while adhering to safety standards. Communicate effectively with clients and their families to ensure personalized care plans are followed and needs are met promptly. Requirements Proven experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home healthcare environments; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly valued. Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR certification. Familiarity with home health agency operations, hospice care practices, and home & community care standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Strong understanding of home health care assistance regulations including HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality. Excellent patient observation skills combined with compassionate communication tailored to geriatric patients or those with cognitive impairments like dementia. Flexibility to work as a live-in caregiver in a residential setting while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail at all times.
