This role is vital in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for clients with diverse needs, including those requiring specialized care such as dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive approach to caregiving, ensuring residents receive personalized care that respects their dignity and rights. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working in a supportive environment. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene Support patients with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to report changes or concerns promptly Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary Administer medications accurately following care plans and maintain detailed documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for residents Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living space Support residents during outings or appointments through personal transportation assistance and escorting Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes Strong knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and emergency response procedures like CPR and first aid Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and resident's rights principles Ability to operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling equipment safely Excellent communication skills in Spanish; ability to effectively engage with clients and team members Experience in developing or following care plans tailored to individual needs Knowledge of HIPAA compliance for protecting patient confidentiality and privacy Capable of performing heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety protocols Skilled in assisting with ADLs including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility support Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable Join us if you're passionate about caregiving and eager to provide compassionate support that truly makes a difference!
