WEEKLY SHIFTS

Sunday 9am-5pm Sunday 5pm-11pm Monday 8am-4pm Monday 7pm-11pm Monday 11pm-8am Saturday 4pm-11pm Coverage shifts are often available on an as-needed (by clients) basis. We provide support to our clients 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. There are also various shifts available working with other clients.

THE CLIENT

We are seeking friendly, reliable attendants to work with one of our male clients in El Cerrito who lives close to bus lines, BART, and the El Cerrito Plaza shopping center with Trader Joe's, restaurants, and other shopping stores. Our client works part time from home. In his off time, he enjoys going to San Francisco to see theater productions. He enjoys podcasts, documentaries, musical theater, and discussing issues ranging from social justice to pop culture. He uses a power wheelchair for mobility. He needs assistance with personal care, including bathing, shaving and dressing. Our client would also like assistance with grocery shopping, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and household budgeting. You must be able to lift at least 50 lbs as this client needs assistance with wheelchair transfers.

DUTIES:

Our attendants assist our clients with any tasks necessary for them to live independently. These duties may include, but are not limited to, personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting, etc), household upkeep, meal preparation, community outings, medication assistance and various other tasks.

COMPENSATION

Starting rate is $21 to $23 an hour depending on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must be at least 18 years old with a valid CA driver license and currently be insured (we do sometimes have positions available that do not require an employee to have their license, but you absolutely must have a valid ID). You must be able to pass the Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and a separate background check prior to your first day of work. You must be able to obtain a CPR/First Aid certification within 3 months of employment.

We are currently hiring caregivers to fill various open positions within our agency. We provide one-on-one direct support services to people with disabilities. Our clients live throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties!
