This position involves providing compassionate care and support to clients in a residential group home and community environments. The DSP fosters independence, promotes personal growth, and ensures the safety and well-being of those they serve. We need part-time afternoon 2:00pm - 10:00pm availability, including weekends. Duties Provide supervision and care to a resident with developmental and behavioral disabilities. Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance clients' mental well-being. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences. Assist with mobility and transportation to appointments or community activities. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to hygiene standards and protocols. Document daily activities, progress, and any incidents in accordance with company policies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care. Skills Experience behavioral intervention with developmentally disabled individuals. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required to ensure client safety during emergencies. Experience in medication administration is essential for managing client health effectively. Background in group home care is highly beneficial for understanding client needs. Familiarity with dementia care techniques is a plus for supporting clients with cognitive impairments. Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients and their families. Ability to maintain a clean environment while providing care services effectively. Experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes can enhance the quality of support provided. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of others through direct support and care.
