Job Description
Position Overview Seeking a patient, reliable, creative, compassionate and neurodiversity affirming part to full time Personal Assistant/Caregiver for my 23 year old profoundly autistic daughter, who is nonspeaking and types to communicate. The Personal Assistant/Caregiver will offer hands on instruction, coaching and support to foster my daughter's autonomy and independence. Experience or knowledge of autism, developmental/intellectual disabilities, speech disorders and/or special education is preferred but not required. Primary Responsibilities The Personal Assistant/Caregiver will provide assistance with: Daily Living Skills Meal planning and prep Household chores and organization Laundry skills Personal care/hygiene routines (prompting and skill building only) Must be comfortable with an energetic and goofy husky Community Integration & Social Skills Community navigation and safety awareness Participation in social, recreational and community activities Supporting communication and emotional/sensory regulation in social/community settings Health & Self-Management Skills Time management and scheduling Appointment tracking and reminders Emotional/sensory regulation strategies (yoga, meditation, art, movement, walks, etc) Preferred Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities Ability to teach skills using step by step instruction Strong communication skills Required Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (car insurance required) Background check clearance CPR/First Aid certification Passion for wellness, nutrition, movement and the arts Schedule & Location Hours per
