Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Provider and become a vital part of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this energetic role, you will provide personalized support that promotes growth, safety, and well-being. Your compassionate approach will help clients navigate daily activities, develop new skills, and participate actively in their communities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health, special education, and community care. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to foster independence and dignity. Support clients in engaging with their community through transportation, social outings, and participation in recreational activities. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs to promote positive behaviors and emotional well-being. Collect data on client progress, behavior patterns, and service outcomes to inform care plans and support team collaboration. Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language if applicable, to facilitate understanding and connection with clients. Administer medications following prescribed protocols when trained and authorized to do so. Document all interactions accurately in compliance with agency policies and state regulations to ensure quality care and accountability. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques is a strong asset. Valid driver's license and safe driving record for transportation responsibilities. Strong interpersonal skills for building trusting relationships with clients, families, and team members. Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion while maintaining client safety at all times.
