Schedule Candidate to come observe the facility- more in-depth interview) Level 6 ARF Direct Support Professional ( Day Staff) Join our team providing compassionate, person centered support to adults with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnosis in a level 6 Adult Residential Facility. The individuals we support have a wide range of abilities and support needs. You may work with individuals who are highly independent, nonverbal, require assistance with daily living, or experience behavioral challenges. Every individual is unique and out focus is on providing respectful, person centered care while promoting independence, dignity and quality of care.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting individuals with daily living skills, personal care, meals, community outings, and behavior plans. Medication support and accurate documentation Maintaining a safe clean, and welcoming environment Providing calm respectful support to individuals who may experience behavioral challenges by using communication, redirection, and de-escalation techniques Working collaboratively with your team to provide consistent, high quality care Were looking for someone who is dependable, patient, compassionate, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Minimum Requirments:
High school diploma or GED. Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. Must pass DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening DSP experience but not required . We will provide paid training. Essential Duties are, but not limited to: Provide compassionate, person-centered support to adults with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks as needed. Encourage independence by teaching and supporting daily living and community participation skills. Administer or assist with medications according to regulations and company policy. Complete accurate documentation, progress notes, medication records, and incident reports. Provide calm, respectful support during behavioral challenges using communication, redirection, and de-escalation techniques. Transport and accompany individuals to , recreational activities, and community outings. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment, including routine housekeeping, deep cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, and other living areas when needed due to , hygiene, or incontinence-related situations. Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and members of the individual's support team. Follow Individual Program Plans (IPPs), Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), Title 22 regulations, and all company policies and procedures. What This Job Is Like No two days are exactly alike. You may spend your day helping an individual prepare meals, attend appointments, complete household tasks, or enjoy a community outing. Other days may involve supporting someone who is nonverbal, assisting with personal care, or responding to behavioral challenges. At times, individuals may become verbally aggressive, use inappropriate language, yell, or throw objects. Staff are trained to respond using communication, de-escalation techniques, and person-centered support rather than physical intervention. Success in this role requires patience, emotional maturity, consistency, ability to remain calm, and a genuine desire to help others live meaningful, independent lives. Schedule:
This position follows a regular weekly schedule; however, as a 24-hour residential care facility, schedules may occasionally be adjusted to meet staffing needs, provide coverage, or accommodate the needs of the individuals we support. We make every effort to be flexible and provide advance notice whenever possible.
Shift days available:
shift 1: Wednesday/thursday & Friday noon-8pm - Saturday 1pm - 11pm shift 2: Saturday & sunday 10 am-8pm Monday & Tuesday noon-8pm Starting wage : From $17.00 per hour. Starting pay may be higher depending on experience and qualifications.
