Lead Caregiver - Home Matters Caregiving Redondo Beach, CA | Minimum 20 Hours/Week | On-Call Availability Required "Compassionate Care You Can Depend On"

Our Lead Caregivers are the backbone of our field operations. You're not just providing exceptional care — you're helping set the standard for our entire caregiving team, stepping up when it matters most, and making sure no client ever goes without the support they need. This position is ideal for an experienced Home Care Aide, Personal Care Assistant, Senior Caregiver, CNA, or Caregiver Supervisor who enjoys providing hands-on care and is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities. As a Lead Caregiver, you will help ensure that clients receive dependable care by supporting new caregivers, assisting with client introductions, responding to urgent scheduling needs, and covering open shifts when necessary. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Direct Client Care:
Follow personalized client care plans and accurately document completed services Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene Provide mobility assistance, transfers, positioning, and fall-prevention support Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and home organization Provide medication reminders, companionship, safety monitoring, and cognitive support Build professional and trusting relationships with clients and their families Observe changes in a client's condition and promptly report concerns to the office team
Lead & On-Call Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact when a caregiver is unable to report for a scheduled shift — respond quickly and either cover the shift personally or coordinate a replacement Be available on-call for urgent shift needs that arise with little notice, ensuring client care is never interrupted Step in to cover shifts across the Redondo Beach service area as needed, including days, evenings, and weekends Assist in orienting and mentoring new caregivers in the field, modeling best practices and Home Matters standards Conduct wellness check-ins with clients and report observations to the office team Communicate proactively with the Executive Administrator and scheduling team regarding shift coverage, client concerns, and caregiver performance in the field Serve as a trusted resource for caregivers who have questions or need support while on shift
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must be at least 21 years old At least two years of professional caregiving , senior care, assisted living, memory care, or home care experience required Previous experience as a Lead Caregiver, Senior Caregiver, Med Tech, CNA, Caregiver Supervisor, or similar leadership role preferred Active California Home Care Aide registration in good standing Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance Ability to respond promptly to urgent caregiving or scheduling needs Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills Dependable, punctual, professional, and comfortable working independently Experience caring for clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, mobility limitations, or chronic health conditions preferred Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus Ability to lift, reposition, or assist clients weighing up to 50 pounds using safe body mechanics Ability to safely perform hands-on care and operate a vehicle
SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY
Minimum 20 hours per week of scheduled office work On-call availability required — you will be designated as the first responder for same-day or urgent shift needs Combination of scheduled caregiving, client introductions, field support, and administrative responsibilities Day, evening, and weekend caregiving shifts may be available Weekend on-call opportunities may be available based on interest and business needs Schedule may vary depending on client needs and caregiver coverage
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay:
